Went down with Shaun to Newort for a few hours. Was a tad quiet, but still saw a few bits of interest.

Just 3 locos on different workings at Winsford

The WCML is shut north of Crewe at weekends at the minute, so I have been taking some photos of the diverted intermodals and Pendolino drags. I will add more photos to this collection if I take some more.

I met up with David Dawson and headed over to Heamies Farm just north of Stafford for a few hours.

I popped over towards Chester to try and find Hargrave, but I couldn't find the bridge. I did find a foot crossing nearer to Tattenhall though, which I think is a super photo. I will definetly go again if something else decent comes through.

Weather could have been better, but we had a laugh. Could have been a bit busier, but can't have them all. 4 60s in the day, though I wasn't ready for any of them. Still managed 47501 and 47853, so all not lost!

Went to Scotland for a few days. Didn't really see many trains, but I took some scenery photos as well, so there are 6 photos in here, only 2 of trains. Had a brilliant time though!

I went up to Carnforth on the Sunday with Josh to have a look around the depot there. A much enjoyed trip, big thanks to WCRC for putting on a good event.

I went over to Acton Bridge for the second day running to see 86259 working 5Z86 Tyseley - Carnforth. I got lucky too; I also managed to see 37422 on 6F61 Folly Lane - Warrington Arpley Tanks. Also includes a pair of 90s and 66405. With a bit of luck, I won't get any gen tomorrow, and won't go over again tomorrow!

I popped over to Acton Bridge after work to see some afternoon freight traffic and D1015 "Western Champion" working the return of a tour from Salisbury to Liverpool

I decided to pop down to Crewe to see the Deltic, 55022 "Royal Scots Grey" arriving after working "The Snowdonian" from Preston to Pwllheli and back

I popped over to Prestbury station, about 15mins away, to see a railtour from London to Manchester Piccadilly. 47245 was seen leading with 57601 on the back.
Prestbury is an ok location, but it would have been better if the tour had been going the other way and the sun had been out, so could be worth looking at in the future!
Then, 2 days later at Wilmslow, I added 2 more photos, one of 66539 and one of 57601 heading north with the ECS from the tour back to Manchester, before it went back to London.

A short and gloomy afternoon in Chelford

As part of my training I am spending time in York, so here is a selection of photos from whilst I am there. They are not all of trains.

Met up with some lads off RailUK and did a Mersey bash, using Cheshire Day Rangers. Thanks to all for coming, nice to put names to faces!

I had to pop back over to Derbyshire to retrieve something I had forgotten the day before, so took a few photos at Milford, and then saw a 66 at Dowlow quarry on the way back so took a few photos of that too

Following the gig the previous night in Birmingham, I stayed at Sam's overnight, and then we headed out to do some East Midlands photting. We were originally going to go to Colton Junction, but upon waking up couldn't be bothered, so we headed to Milford Tunnel near Belper, and to Unstone near Dronfield

In the morning morning I went down to Chelford to see 56311+56301 on 4M60 Thamesport-Trafford Park, and also 37423 hauling assorted SDR locos to the KWVR Diesel Gala. Then I went to Birmingham for a gig, and so went via an afternoon at Nuneaton with usual intermodal traffic

I headed over to Chelford in the morning to see what was happening. Then I went to Styal to see if anything interesting happened there, and then the sun came out and I made the most of the evening at Wilmslow

My brother told me there was going to be a pair of 37s on a railtour from eterborough to Blaenau Ffestiniog, so I went and fund a bridge on the Crewe - Chester line for a photo. 37401 is sen leading 37417

After being up in Wilmslow for a few days, I decided to head out to a few of my local stations to see what the photo opportunities were. Bar Alderley Edge, my closest is Chelford, and I have decided this is my favourite spot. Holmes Chapel came second. I also visited Goostrey, but it was a bit too dark with the many trees around so I didn't take any photos there. This visit was better as the Macclesfield - Stoke line wasn't in use, meaning all trains were routed via Wilmslow.

I went to the Lickey with Shaun for what will be my last day out taking photographs in the south west. I've wanted to visit the Lickey for some time, and so I'm glad that I finally managed it before I leave.
We visited Ashchurch, Bankers Bridge, Pikes Pool Lane and Vigo Bridge before I headed off to Tredington after saying farewell to Shaun. A big thank you to him for driving me around, and for the company throughout the poor weather!
Highlights include 43007 on the XC HST set, 43104 on the other HST set, 66727 with 4Z89 Leeds - Long Marston and 60024 on 6E41. Also includes a fairly vast array of liverys!

Me and Shaun went down to Westbury for the day to see some 59s (and 159s...apparently). Saw plenty but we were rarely in the right place for a photo. Ah well, maybe next time. It was a good day, 153368 on the way down, 158954 back up - slightly different experiences!

I went up to Natton to see 57006 on 6Z72 Stockton-Cardiff, but then decided to try somewhere new, and so headed over to Tredington crossing for a photo of the working. Also includes 60075 with 6M41.

I went up with Shaun to see what was happening, managed to see 60042, 60091 and 66088 on an empty car train using the loop. A little surprising, but a pleasant surprise all the same!

Me and SC went up to Churchdown for a photo of 37417 and 37401 working a Swindon - Carlisle charter train. However, photos didn't quite come out as planned, due to awful dark weather, so we hot-footed it up to Ashchurch to get some photos there. We then headed down to Coedkernew near Newport to see 71000 "Duke of Gloucester" on a Bristol - Milford Haven tour
